I am always suspicious of wine blurbs that read like the PR that they are, but when my wonderful Sniders turned up this gem I thought oh, why not. Wine Specialist is in the business of selling wine whether it's good or not, but this description is right on target. The 2006 Sauvignon has an herbal nose alright -- at first i couldn't place it, but then I flashed on my tomato bed where I have four basil plants -- and I recognized that heady scent. Now, you may think that wine smelling like basil is not, but not, your idea of fun; but then you take a mouthful and it's cruncy, like biting into Granny Smith apples; and just a bit acidic so that baby bubbles form on your tongue; and you're hooked. It's yummy. Go buy a case. Because I said so.
