Wine Afficianados probably don't think this is odd, but I do: I bought a bottle of Sauv Blanc from Silver Birch World Wines at my darling Sniders. It purports to be a Marlborough New Zealand Sauv Blanc; but as I read the back label, it seems the grapes were imported by Silver Birch in Napa, CA and bottled here (with a NZ twist top, natch). Perfectly fine wine, medium bodied with a strong green apple nose and a clean finish. It's just weird to me that CA winemakers would import NZ grapes (that have to be labeled as NZ grapes) in order to make essentially a NZ wine when they could just work at making an NZ style wine with a Napa twist, as it were. Anyway, this is a good wine. Go try some.
