This past Saturday was the 2nd Annual Hoops on theTerrace basketball game between the teachers and the parents at The Littlest Offering's school. Offering Boy is also an alum, and the multi-talented UO was playing for the parents, so we ponied up for tickets and took ourselves off to the local high school where the game was played.
The two teams were the Mind Molders (teachers) and the Parental Units, who bore tee-shirts with nicknames like "Old But Slow," "Glamour Mom" (played by a man, a last minute substitution), "Dunkin' Dad," and my personal favorite, "I Own Two Dogs." Guess who that was.
The Parental Units dominated the hard-fought game right up until the end, when Mr. Moxley (Gym, as distinguished from his cousin, Mr. Moxley [1st grade]) sank a 3-pointer at the buzzer. TLO's teacher, Mrs. Noxon, played outstandingly wellfor the Melders; but it was the concensus of the Units at the after-party that the Melders got all the calls, and that carried the day...I will say this, the girls got game, but when the boys were on the court, elbows were thrown.
We had a blast. Pix follow.
Go Parental Units!
My first thought was, why is Ms. Z wearing a donkey head? But TLO informs me it's a uni-corn. Oh.
Both teams, plus cheerleaders. No fair - the Units didn't have any cheerleaders!
